As Pro Vice-Chancellor Research, Emma is a key member of the University’s Executive and Senior Leadership Team and has strategic oversight of our rapidly developing agenda, Emma has well over 20 years teaching experience on social science undergraduate and post-graduate courses including PhD and extensive research expertise focusing on online risk and vulnerable groups; image-based abuse (sexting and revenge pornography); online harassment; domestic abuse and sexual abuse. Her research on virtual environments, mobile technologies and risk has attracted much national and international acclaim. She has been interviewed for BBC and ITV documentaries, The Today Programme and Woman’s hour on Radio 4; Channel 4's Sex Education Show and for various national media channels in the UK, America and Canada.
