Vijaya has significant experience in designing, developing and delivering innovative leadership programmes and senior organisational development consultancy. Vijaya is an EMCC accredited executive coach with over 10,000 coaching hours’ experience. She is an experienced ‘C’ suite and board level facilitator and coach.

Vijaya was the past Director of Leadership Development at the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education and Director of Leadership Development at the King's Fund, London. Vijaya has established a portfolio of interventions including networks, collaborations with political influencers, a suite of open programmes and thought leadership in various subjects including advancing women in leadership. She designs and collaborates with external partners in the creation of a number of international leadership retreats that feature learning from health and non-health organisations which are leading-edge in quality, innovation, healthy work cultures and leadership. 

Vijaya has published and continues to write papers on leadership development and has influenced thought leadership in medical engagement, quality improvement in health, equality, diversity and inclusion, and the importance of advancing women in leadership. Supporting women leaders across sectors has been a core focus of her leadership and organisation development work. She is a visiting professor at Milan's SDA Bocconi School of Management.

Vijaya was appointed as a trustee of Windsor Leadership in 2017 and also served as chair on the Chairs and Facilitators Executive (CAFE). Contemplative Spaces was founded in April 2018 and works with senior leaders and their teams to support their successes in leading effective organisations in which staff and users flourish.
Contemplative Spaces works experientially, utilising stimuli based locally and globally in museums, galleries and other spaces which promote thought, creativity and leadership.
