This BAME Leadership Summit aims to empower agents of change and key decision makers in higher education to take action within their institution and advance the race equality agenda.
The third Advance HE BAME Leadership Summit will have a focus around BAME attainment in higher education. The summit will consider a wide range of aspects that impact on attainment including recruitment, transition, retention and attainment of BAME students, recruitment, retention and promotion of BAME staff, BAME representation in leadership roles, BAME pay gaps and the impact of white privilege. The issues are significant and well known but change is not happening quickly enough. The summit aims to look at, understand and encourage the expansion of some of the positive work in the sector to address these issues where real change is happening.
Who should attend
This summit has been designed for senior leaders who are responsible for institutional and strategic change related to race equality, those who are working towards race equality within HEIs in all areas and across any activities. Alumni both in terms of past attendees and sponsors of the Advance HE Diversifying Leadership programme may also find the event of interest as will colleagues leading their institutional Race Equality Charter Mark applications.
