In July 2021, Advance HE publishes a major new work on assessment and feedback in higher education. Entitled Assessment and Feedback in a Post-Pandemic Era: A Time for Learning and Inclusion, the publication comprises 19 papers and the work of more than 40 authors. The work includes a guest introduction by Dr Edd Pitt (Centre for the Study of Higher Education, University of Kent) as well as papers by authors including: Kay Sambell and Sally Brown; Gareth Dart and Sean Bracken and Margaret Price; am Elkington; Jess Moody and Aranee Manoharan. The publication also features important papers by new and emerging authors on assessment and feedback, to produce a highly eclectic and timely collection. As its title indicates, the overall focus addresses the central issues of assessment and feedback during and ‘post’ pandemic, and the vital importance of equality, diversity and inclusion in assessment and feedback.

In what will be an exciting and optimistic webinar and forming part of our Member Benefit activities for July, this webinar provide an official launch for the publication, and offer some background about it and how colleagues may wish to use it in their practice. The webinar will be introduced by Patrick Baughan and Edd Pitt. After this, delegates will split into breakout rooms, each facilitated by other contributors to the publication – where you will have the opportunity to discuss specific themes and papers in the work, with these authors. We will all come back at the end for some closing thoughts and to celebrate the launch of Assessment and Feedback in a Post-Pandemic Era: A Time for Learning and Inclusion.
