The potential impact of unacceptable behaviours, such as bullying and harassment, is well known - increased levels of absence, staff turnover, and lower staff morale which can reduce productivity. The effects of such behaviours are harmful to all concerned, potentially expensive for institutions and carrying the risk of serious reputational damage.

While many higher education institutions have put significant energy into creating the policies and procedures that prevent harassment and bullying, it is also important to establish a workplace culture that is inclusive and respectful of all members of the team, and where people feel clear about what constitutes unacceptable behaviour and how to respond to it. This workshop, which is suitable for all staff, provides the opportunity for participants to improve their understanding of their rights and responsibilities, within the context of organisational dignity and harassment policy and processes.
