Overview

In the insights team at Advance HE we amplify student voice to make higher education the best it can be. Over the past two years, Advance HE surveys have engaged with over 120,000 students.

  • UK engagement survey (UKES) the only undergraduate survey in the UK to focus on student engagement, providing vital information which can be used to enhance learning and teaching.
  • Postgraduate taught experience survey (PTES) allows taught postgraduate students to give feedback about learning, teaching and other aspects of their courses, informing enhancements to their experience.
  • Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) allows postgraduate research students to give feedback about their learning experience, supervision, and research environment, informing enhancements to their experience.

Given the challenges students and higher education institutes have faced during 2020-2021. It is no surprise that the challenges with remote learning and isolation from peers and lecturers resulted in increased levels of mental health concerns (UKES, 2021). In this Survey Insights event we will share key findings on student mental health and wellbeing across our three large student surveys.

The event will focus on student mental health and wellbeing, access to support, as well as student’s perception of HEIs' handling of Covid-19. We will hear from the insight team at Advance HE as well as students and staff about their interpretation of the key findings, and how the student voice can be used to enhance undergraduate and postgraduate students' experience within their own context.

Who should attend?

Those with responsibility for the student academic experience and student engagement more widely, SU teams wishing to widen their student engagement, course leaders seeking to have a more engaged cohort and others focused on the student experience and improving student outcomes.
