Overview

Supported by HEFCW, this residential symposium for senior research leaders within Welsh universities aims to:

  • provide a challenging forum for delegates to clarify and discuss institutional challenges, priorities and solutions with the potential of a pan-Wales approach to some of the agendas and solutions;
  • discuss the post-Brexit external research environment and determine the agenda/strategy each institution, and Wales as a collective sector, needs to develop;
  • explore the barriers to delivering the research agenda by sharing challenges and good practice across research management (people and resources) and research support activities.

At the end of the programme delegates will, in a safe space:

  • have a clearly defined sense of the wider research landscape horizon;
  • have developed and deepened relationships within the Welsh research collective;
  • have had the space and opportunity for creative thinking and cross-fertilisation of ideas with their peers.
