
Our colloquium events offer staff a useful forum to encourage the exchange and dissemination of different ways of thinking about key Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) challenges and new approaches.
Structure
Each colloquium is facilitated by a Senior Advisor from Advance HE with specific expertise in the area being discussed. The day will feature a keynote presentation from a leading practitioner in each area, followed by themed sessions showcasing case studies from across the sector. Delegates will have the opportunity to learn from leading practitioners in the sector, debate priority issues and learn from cutting-edge initiatives.

They enable participants to develop a principled, evidence-informed approach to devising subsequent support and guidance for change in enhancing student success in HE.

Equality Diversity and Inclusion Colloquia – Decolonising Pedagogies
Date: 21 July 2022, Virtual
The second Advance HE EDI colloquium on decolonising pedagogies will focus on progress made in the last year around decolonising our HE pedagogies both in relation to our teaching of HE students and looking at our role as educational developers of HE staff.
This colloquium will look at decolonising pedagogy and the curriculum within higher education, a topical area of focus for all institutions across the UK and more widely. This area of work is of interest to students, students unions and staff and needs addressing at all levels from individual programmes to entire faculties and cross institutionally involving both academic and professional services staff to really make change.

Equality Diversity and Inclusion Colloquium

This one-day, in-person colloquium will focus on current issues relating to equality, diversity and inclusion, provide examples of good practice within the sector to address these, and will provide a safe space for discussion.
