Student Academic Experience Survey (SAES)

The annual Advance HE-HEPI Student Academic Experience Survey shows how full-time undergraduate students rate their time in higher education and their attitudes toward policy issues that impact them.

Our Survey takes place at the same time each year among a directly comparable undergraduate sample, enabling us to measure genuine like-for-like changes. This year’s results highlight encouraging signs of recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the student academic experience.

Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES)

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) provides robust, benchmark data from a large number of institutions across the UK and beyond to drive enhancement of the Postgraduate Research Experience.

The Postgraduate Research Experience Survey (PRES) 2021, is the largest survey of its kind, exploring the views of almost 40,000 postgraduate researchers from 94 institutions.

Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES)

The Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES) is the only UK higher education sector-wide survey to gain insight from taught postgraduate students about their learning and teaching experience.

This report presents the sector findings of the Postgraduate Taught Experience Survey (PTES), aggregating results from all participating institutions in the sector and providing the most comprehensive picture of the postgraduate taught experience.

UK Engagement Survey (UKES)

The UK Engagement Survey (UKES) is the only nationwide undergraduate survey to focus on student engagement.

This year's results highlighted that engagement among Black, Asian and minority ethnic students remained higher than for their white counterparts, despite ongoing challenges posed by the Black, Asian and minority ethnic attainment gap.

Good Practice Grants 2020

Good Practice Grants (GPGs) provide Advance HE members with an opportunity to develop and share innovative practices with us and the wider HE sector.

Inclusive institutions: enabling and supporting culture change

The principal aim of the research is to collate and understand a range of techniques/approaches and lessons learned from members’ current work to transform, enable and support an inclusive culture, ways of working, or delivery of key strategic aims.

The principal aim for this project is to co-create spaces for leaders of college-based tertiary or higher education across the UK to come together and share practices, devise solutions to meet their challenges and opportunities and build stronger links with the Advance HE community.

The Future Student Experience Project

The principal aim of the project is to stimulate debate about the future student experience through an exploration of potential, desirable and less desirable scenarios.

Utilising the Professional Standards Framework for Teaching and Supporting Learning for Strategic Change
