This is the case study for a completed Mini-Project which was one of the phase 3 Mini-Projects funded by LTSN Engineering (now the Engineering Subject Centre). Chris Rielly Chemical Engineering Loughborough University was awarded funding to investigate the use of computer algebra software in the teaching of maths to a mixed ability class of first-year Chemical Engineers. The aim was to improve student achievement and understanding in maths while introducing them to a useful tool that can be applied in other contexts throughout the course.
