Evaluation of a psychology card sort to assist student reflection and to contribute to PDP

A psychology card sort was developed as part of the employability initiatives of the HEA Psychology network during 2004-5. The card sort drew from generic models and the QAA benchmark statements for psychology identifying specific skills and attributes developed through undergraduate study of psychology. This card sort has not been evaluated for its utility by intended target students (those in the last 18 months of their studies). In this project the card sort will be used by a group of second year students during their second semester of study. Students will complete the card sort at both the beginning and the end of the semester and the results of the two measures will be compared. It will also be evaluated by content analysis student responses to the experience and comparisons with student scores on a measure of career development.
