When do we ask students how best they learn? - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

When do we ask students how best they learn? 25 final-year design students shared their motivational learning experience stories. This ethnographic study revealed students benefit from a learning community want time to experiment and take risks need to experience and understand their industry and be goal driven. The aims of the Paper are to; 1. share the research method and analysis offering insight into the minds of students at a time of heightened engagement 2. encourage attendees to debate whether HEIs should be ‘measuring’ student engagement or teaching quality or refocus attentions on when and how individual students best learn.
