Sufficiently robust processes should be in place to ensure:

  • Effective ongoing monitoring and review of equality priorities and related outcomes that can be fed back through normal institutional strategy and business review mechanisms to support the ongoing strategy development process and related activity. As an illustrative example, monitoring and review can be aligned with and can usefully support other core institutional processes and activities such as portfolio and curriculum review.
  • Clear structures for accountability and governance in relation to the EIA process i.e. who is responsible for ensuring identified actions happen and are effective in practice, how will this be reported and who will this be reported to?
