Race Equality Colloquium 2022

A one-day virtual event that provides a safe space to discuss ways to address inequalities of race within higher education.

Racial discrimination in higher education continues to exist. Despite the events of the past year and heightened focus on structural and institutionalised racism, we see growing tensions arising from differing cultural, ethnic and other identities, both on campus and in wider society.

By way of keynotes, panel sessions and workshops, this event will provide a safe space to discuss progress made, the challenges that lie ahead and the next steps that higher education institutions must take to address racial inequality in the sector.

Date: 4 May 2022
Venue: Virtual
Who: Anyone wishing to take an active role in driving change towards an anti-racist culture and an environment of dignity and respect for all

We are looking for workshop and presentation proposals from individuals or teams across an institution or multiple institutions under one of five broad research areas, including the extent to which systemic racism poses barriers to access, participation and success in HE for neurodiverse students from Black, Asian or other minority-racialised backgrounds.

The deadline for submissions is midnight 14 February 2022.
