Introducing Research in Musicology

The addition of a further third and fourth year honours option at the Music Department of the University of Aberdeen in 2006 was an opportunity to develop a course based on my own research specialism introducing students not only to the outcomes of research but also to various research methodologies. Independent thinking initiative purposeful enquiry and the ability to apply systematic methodologies are some of the attributes that students develop but the course also prompts me to consider new ideas that students put forward in connection with my own research.
