Creating student-friendly and inclusive assessment briefs to enhance student achievement - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Assessment briefs are traditionally provided in a written format which does not cater to the diverse nature of the student population. As such interactive video assessment briefs were created together for five modules in undergraduate sport and fitness degrees at Southampton Solent University. These aimed to provide a clearer explanation of the assessment task and subsequently increase student performance. The impact on students of the video assessment briefs will be discussed in the session. This will be achieved through presentation of qualitative data of student experience and quantitative data of engagement with the video assessment briefs and resulting performance.
