'Exams are exams! Aren't they?': International students' experience

A presentation from the TIS International Conference - Internationalisation of Pedagogy and Curriculum in Higher Education: Exploring New Frontiers June 2011.

Despite UK higher education’s move towards coursework exams remain an important form of assessment.

This paper presents the findings from a HEA C-SAP funded project that investigated international students' experiences of exams in their own educational system compared to their experiences in the UK.  International students from two Scottish post-92 higher education institutions (Edinburgh Napier and Glasgow Caledonian) were interviewed both before and after their exams in the UK and international students in both institutions were surveyed.
