The Integration of Professional Competencies into Construction Management Degrees

The process of matching the requirements of the employers with course provision is always difficult. For a course such as Construction Management where there is such a diversity of employers a wide variety of roles and an ever changing business environment this difficulty is exacerbated.

This case study reflects on assessment that takes the form of a portfolio of evidence collected using the Chartered Institute of Building Professional development Portfolio list of required competencies. Students must collect evidence from the work experience demonstrate its relevance and clearly express the personal learning and development which has taken place through the experience.
