To support staff with caring responsibilities, all Schools and Institutes have introduced core hours for meetings (including away-days) of 10–4pm. Where meetings need to occur outside core hours, advance notification is given. Introducing core hours has had a positive impact on staff, 39% of staff reported being more able to attend meetings. Units also hold annual family-friendly social gatherings and rotate other social events between afternoons and evenings to accommodate staff with caring responsibilities.
