‘Doing more with less’: Using primary sources to enhance learning - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The session encourages an approach to teaching design history that prioritises primary and visual sources to meaningfully engage students – using an inquiry-based learning approach to provide opportunities for participation in the production of knowledge in the field of study and development of the key graduate skills of communication and information literacy. As academics we may take for granted that we ‘know’ what we are looking at. But how do we ‘know’?  Engaging with primary sources relevant to Interior Design students participants will discuss how development of that knowledge can be encouraged amongst students in the digital age. An evaluation of the success and impact of this approach will be shared
