The “oven-ready” postgraduate: How “real-world” experiences meet the employability agenda - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

To quote Tomorrow’s MBA 2014 the message from our stakeholders is ensure ‘study is applied international and helps get [me] a job’.  Our strategy therefore in programme development was to engineer the best possible intersection between the abilities and aspirations of students and the work-ready requirements of employers. Thus turning ability into aptitude – through high tech high touch high teach professional and personal development. This presentation describes the stages from inception to delivery of the key components identified by stakeholders: emphasis on real-world experience not just “theoretical world” learning the development of transferable skills and global perspectives to the curriculum.
