Architecture of multiple authorship - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Architecture of Multiple Authorship describes an alternative method of teaching a design related subject through live projects. These projects are initiated by students and tutors with local community partners and involve consecutive student cohorts during different phases of the project. The benefits of students’ ongoing and specific engagement with a place and community will be illustrated and discussed through a case study situated in Hayes West London. The presentation will outline how teaching quality and student experience can be increased student outcomes and learning gains improved and greater student satisfaction and employability achieved. In addition students can empower communities giving the university a presence outside of academia which benefits recruitment and marketing
