Comparative Sharia Law: The development of teaching materials in the area of Sharia compliant financial instruments and intellectual property

This research project formed part of the Islamic Studies programme.

Both financial instruments and intellectual property are important economic tools with the continuing development and integration of Islamic based market structures it is likely that these topics will continue to play important roles in the world economy.

To this end Bradford University Management School in conjunction with Bradford University Law School have developed a module that deals with these important areas. The materials that have been developed to date are already freely available to use online however the bid will further develop and moreover repurpose the material to allow release under creative commons licences. This project will create a significant material base in these areas that can be used as open educational resources in a wide variety of contexts. The existing developmental website can be found at: www.mvanhoor.co.uk
