Developing simulation as an alternative form of placement in pharmacy and other undergraduate health and social care programmes

This case study describes an initiative undertaken at Robert Gordon University as part of the HEA's Responding to the National Student Survey in the Disciplines Change Programme.

This project has looked at ways of embedding simulation within an undergraduate training programme and is beginning to explore its contribution to the achievement of graduate outcomes and the development of professional identity. The findings are likely to have relevance across the sector: the problems described are common to most health and social science courses.
