The prolific number of outdoor music festivals in the UK represents a significant growth area in the cultural industries and consequently an expanding area for freelance employment. The aim of the session is to demonstrate how visual media recordings taken from the professional field of two music festivals can situate employability skills. Through the focus on a common student experience ‘the outdoor music festival’ the intention is to locate the student in a familiar place but to switch the perspective from consumer to producer. This session draws attention to planning teamwork health and safety and art and music-in-practice.
