Embedding employability - Encouraging resilience and adaptability in Fashion Design students - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Looking back at 13 years working as a designer in the Fashion Industry I am well aware that graduates entering this job market need to be flexible and adaptable to a multitude of tasks; they must also be resilient able to react positively when faced with criticism and maintain creativity in a highly pressurised environment.  This paper aims to explore the importance of encouraging the traits of adaptability and resilience within Fashion Design students with the objective to enable these learners to independently manage their time at University and with Employability in mind going forward.
