Exploring the impacts of policy changes on student approaches and attitudes to learning in contemporary higher education: implications for student learning engagement

This research investigated how changes in HE policy particularly in relation to fee increases have affected students’ approaches to higher education. It asked what students value in formal learning and how they would like this to be structured and delivered.

This comprehensive report provides many recommendations such as “tempering the language of consumption in a market-driven system” future employability structuring extra-curricular activities engaging students with a high quality learning agenda and the need for HEIs to maintain an open and transparent relationship with their students.
