Widening participation in higher education is accepted as a means to enhancing social mobility; Hefce through OFFA works with universities to promote fair access across the sector. In the policy arena the issue is largely seen as one of access to HE but at GSM we are focusing on the challenges that WP students face and the commensurate progression and achievement.
