Interview vodcasts: Final Report

A report from a Psychology Network Employability Mini-grant scheme project run by the University of Lincoln.

Although psychology graduates are seen to be among the brightest and most able the current economic climate will mean that these graduates may find it difficult to gain employment and will need to make the most of opportunities when they occur. Even when the economy is buoyant professional posts for psychology graduates are notoriously competitive and it is thus a critical time to support students in making the transition to the world of work.

Much of the employability material provided to psychology students focuses on the transferable skills embedded within degree programmes.  Students are encouraged to recognise and value these skills in relation to the workplace. However our work and professional practice leads us to question how well students can actually articulate and evidence these skills at interview.

The overall aim of this funded mini-project was to help psychology students bring their degree and their CV to life.
