Make lectures match how we learn: The nonlinear teaching approach - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The aim of this session is to present and discuss an innovative nonlinear teaching approach which is based on learning theories in cognitive psychology and compare this approach to the existing ones. The method has been used and tested in an undergraduate economics course and the results present its effectiveness. The objective is for the audience to be introduced to a new teaching method for large and diverse student cohorts and to critically reflect their current methods of teaching. The usefulness of the method on other disciplines in social sciences makes the session suitable for lecturers in the social sciences faculty.
