NET 2018 Conference: Tackling the workforce gap: A novel approach for educating children’s nurses

The number of children’s nurses in England does not meet the current workforce needs straining service provision (Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health 2017). However options to tackle this shortage exist. In two sites in the North West of England accelerated programmes have targeted existing workforce to develop children’s nurses able to swiftly fill vacancies.
