The use of visual pedagogies such as photo-elicitation where photographs are used to facilitate discussion and enable students to surface tacit understandings and explore taken-for-granted experiences offer great potential for the transformation of teaching and learning. During this interactive session participants will experience a photo-elicitation learning and teaching activity. Participants will work in small groups in which they will share and develop new understandings and insights. Following the activity participants will be supported to reflect and identify the potential value of photo-elicitation as a teaching strategy for their discipline area as well as to generate solutions for any problems identified.
