The public sector equality duty of the Equality Act 2010, Education Scotland’s quality requirements and Scottish Funding Council guidance make mainstreaming equality an institutional imperative.
Developed in response to needs identified by colleges in Scotland, this report aims to support them in mainstreaming equality while also enhancing quality assurance practice and processes.
Based on research undertaken in nine Scottish colleges, the report identifies quality assurance and enhancement activities which offer opportunities for embedding equality and diversity. It features examples of current practice and recommendations for further activities.
