A paper presented at the STEM Annual Conference 2012.
The aim of this project was to assess the extent to which students have acquired or developed two of the University of Aberdeen's 19 Graduate Attributes as a result of participating in the compulsory first-year 'BUGS' course. The Graduate Attributes focused on were acquiring GA2 'an intellectual curiosity and a willingness to question accepted wisdom and to be open to new ideas' and GA6 'a diverse set of transferable and generic skills'.It was anticipated that among the students who followed the course not all would develop these Graduate Attributes and the extent to which they acquired them would be variable.
