student 2.0

The term 2.0 originated with the concept of web 2.0 and was then used as a tag to refer to the next generation of a range of concepts. Within this context student 2.0 is used to describe 21st century learners who expect their education to reflect the participatory digital environments of web 2.0.

Student 2.0 learns within distributed informal networks by creating content and engaging in conversation. Ideas are crowd-sourced and remixed for reuse in other contexts.
