Student engagement through partnership: A case study: A collaborative approach between the careers service and academic staff within the University of Birmingham - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

The University of Birmingham’s Careers Network team for the College of Life & Environmental Science is collaborating with academic colleagues to improve graduate employability through enhanced student engagement using an online mechanism to streamline referrals to the careers service. This oral presentation outlines the circumstances leading to the collaboration describes the methods used and the ongoing positive results evidenced through measures of referral rates further engagement of the referred students with additional careers services and anecdotal feedback. Attendees are encouraged to consider the model in relation to their own services identifying what may be transferable and challenges to implementation.
