Heriot-Watt University was the pioneer of the joint Higher Education Academy (HEA) and National Union of Students (NUS) Student Led Teaching Awards (SLTA) initiative. The SLTAs were envisioned as a new approach to raising the profile of teaching and identifying good practice helping students consider and positively influence their learning and developing stronger partnerships between students and staff.
