Student mental health: Some concerns some observations and some suggestions - HEA Annual Conference 2017 - Generation TEF: Teaching in the spotlight

Within UK higher education there is an overwhelming consensus that the student demand for mental health support is rising according to a recent (2015) HEFCE report. Poor mental health can have a profoundly negative impact on students and consequential effects on achievement retention and progression. This presentation provides an outline of some key research into student mental health and provides examples of current best practice in terms of supporting students and promoting positive mental health.
