Trowler P and Wareham T: Tribes Territories Research and Teaching: Enhancing the Teaching-Research Nexus: A summary

This is a summary of the Tribes Territories Research and Teaching: Enhancing the Teaching Research Nexus Project. The overall aim of the project is to rethink the concepts underlying the notion of the “teaching-research nexus” based on a review of the literature an analysis of a number of case studies and the findings of an interview study of teaching research and the links between them in four creative subjects in the UK.

This report sets out a summary of the key themes covered in the literature on linkages between disciplinary differences and research practices linkages between disciplinary differences and teaching and learning and the nature of the “teaching-research nexus”. The report aims to provide an overview of the concepts and approaches taken in these areas rather than a descriptive review.
