Alexander has been involved in the student movement for over 5 years and is the current Vice President (Education) at Heriot-Watt University Student Union. He has a keen interest in supporting Widening Participation students at his institution and has been leading on a series of focus groups with students in different protected characteristic groups. The groups aim to understand their unique student experience and to ascertain additional support measures that can be introduced. Alexander is also a member of the Cross-Party Parliamentary Group on Racial Equality and represents Scottish students as the Enhancement Themes Student Lead and on various QAA committees.
