Andrea is a Senior Lecturer in Philosophy of Education in Moray House School of Education and Sport (MHSES), and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. She is currently the MHSES Director of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion, with key priorities of improving racial literacy of staff and students, and developing an anti-racist curriculum. Her scholarly research focusses on inclusive democratic education, and the role of the teacher as fostering intercultural understanding and transformative learning. She has published internationally in leading journals and volumes, and recently edited a forthcoming volume for Bloomsbury’s Major Reference Works that highlights equality movements led by women and BAME (BIPOC) peoples at the turn of the 20th Century.
