Eurig Scandrett is Senior Lecturer in Sociology at Queen Margaret University and programme leader for BSc and MSc programmes in Public Sociology.  After an initial career as a research scientist, he spent 15 years in community education including as Head of Community Action at Friends of the Earth.  He collaborated with colleagues from Scottish Women’s Aid to develop the ‘Gender Justice and Violence: Feminist Approaches’ course which has run since 2007.  The course engages with debates concerning public policy, professional practice and political activism in relation to gender-based violence. He is editor of Public Sociology as Educational Practice: Challenges, Dialogues and Counterpublics (2020).
