Kathryn Dawson is Sexual Violence Prevention Coordinator at Rape Crisis Scotland, where her role involves development and coordination of prevention work with young people across Scotland in partnership with local Rape Crisis centres. She developed the National Sexual Violence Prevention Programme for secondary schools, delivered by Rape Crisis centres in every local authority in Scotland, and is also involved in the development of whole school, college and university campus approaches to prevention through Scotland’s Equally Safe strategy to prevent and eradicate Violence against Women and Girls. She also works closely with a wide range of partners in voluntary and statutory sectors to develop strategic approaches to prevention in Scotland. She has previously worked directly with survivors of GBV in Rape Crisis and other local women’s organisations, and with young people as a sexual health group worker.
