Lynn Robinson

Lynn is a consultant and interim manager with substantial senior leadership experience in higher education focusing particularly on:

  • Developing and leading student facing services,
  • institutional governance, regulation and compliance,
  • leading complex change programmes and projects
  • strategy and policy development, and
  • risk and crisis management.

Lynn has led large, primarily student facing, teams throughout her career, latterly as Deputy Registrar at the University of Bristol with responsibility for approximately 600 staff across the Academic Registry, Student Services, Libraries, Residences, and Sport. She was interim Registrar at Bristol during 2018/19. She has also held non-executive roles, as Vice-Chair of a multi-academy trust, director of a destination management organisation, and currently as Chair of Governors for two schools in Bristol.

Lynn became a consultant and interim manager in 2020. Her most recent roles have been as interim University Secretary at the University of West London and previously interim Registrar (Academic) and Secretary at De Montfort University where she made significant contributions to improving institutional governance. As a consultant, Lynn has provided services for a broad range of old and new universities in relation to governance effectiveness, institution-wide professional services structures, student experience, admissions, and academic regulations and administration.

A champion of an outstanding university experience for all students, Lynn has worked collaboratively and productively with student representatives throughout her career. She has also led major organisational change, including multi-million-pound student facilities and student IT system change projects. Lynn has transformed student support functions in central teams, academic schools and residences and successfully engendered a high performance and customer-focused ethos in all her teams.

Lynn has always prided herself on building excellent working relationships with colleagues, students, external partners, and now clients and has always received extremely positive feedback from colleagues and clients.
