Glaucoma TEMPO is a multidisciplinary, cross-institutional team from the University of Manchester and Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. There are three optometrist members and a consultant ophthalmologist who are working to upskill the local primary care workforce in glaucoma detection and monitoring.

The anatomy team have adopted groundbreaking approaches to widening access to anatomy and clinical education. The generosity of body donors, new technology and the establishment of the Public Display license enabled the development of dedicated teaching sessions and the documentary My Dead Body, which has had a positive influence on millions.

The Person-centred Collaborative Operational Group (Pc-COG) at Ulster University is a team of six full-time academics with developed expertise in person-centredness over a sixteen-year period. As part of Ulster’s School of Nursing and Paramedic Science (SON&PS), comprising 170 staff, they support a diverse portfolio of healthcare programmes across three campuses and online.

Re-forming each year, the University of Exeter’s Grand Challenges team of professional services, academic leads, postgraduate teaching assistants and student interns work collaboratively to deliver an annual week-long programme. The team brings together people with complementary expertise, knowledge and skills, and are agile, adapting quickly to changing resourcing levels, partnership possibilities and student interest.

Birley Place is an online platform providing interprofessional learning resources and opportunities to Manchester Met students and external partners across the higher education sector, both nationally and internationally. The Birley Place team are an interprofessional group of academics, service users, professional services staff and students that developed the digital learning community.

The Science Shop is a community engaged research and learning (CERL) initiative in Queen's University Belfast. They collaborate with community partners to develop research needs into project ideas and work with students and staff to create small-scale curriculum-based projects. They are leaders in the CERL movement within Europe and internationally.

The team at OxSTaR has been pioneering the design, delivery and evaluation of simulation-based education for more than 15 years. It is a diverse, multi-professional group with the shared aim of delivering excellent education to healthcare students and professionals for the benefit of patients in the NHS and more widely.

The Inclusive-learning@York team works collaboratively with staff and students to develop initiatives related to inclusive learning, teaching and assessment, student partnerships, and community and belonging. The team embeds co-construction principles, through the involvement of paid student partners and a strong emphasis on collaboration with academic and professional staff.

The Decolonising DMU (DDMU) team prioritises enrichment, voice, dialogue and empowerment, which brings a unique, whole institution approach to building an anti-racist university. Its golden thread is its anti-racist activist endeavour facilitated by a collaboration between students, academic and professional services staff, which has achieved significant cross-institutional and cross-sector impact.

The School of Natural and Environmental Sciences (SNES) Employability and Enterprise Working Group was created to foster collaborations between academic staff in the School and Library, International Office and Careers Service colleagues and industry partners to co-create initiatives which raise student employability and future-proof their skills via ‘real world’ problem solving.

OPAD is a multi-faculty, staff-student initiative where members collaborate in creating assistive and rehabilitation devices for community and healthcare partners. Students with complementary skills work in multidisciplinary teams, supported by research, technical, academic and administration staff, as well as end-user clients and representatives to ensure projects address end-user needs.
