Cardiff University: School of Psychology

Undergraduate application rates are in line with or showing  increased gender balance, compared to the rest of the sector for Psychology. Our analysis of these figures, which includes focus groups, indicates that our course appeals to women because we offer a professional placement and because we run two professional doctorates in Clinical and Educational psychology, which are career paths favoured by women. The breadth of research and teaching on offer is also showcased via YouTube videos, careers montages and open days, which include talks and the presentation of research posters in the foyer/public spaces.
