Academic promotion guidelines were revised to: remove requirements detrimental to part-time staff; and recognise disciplines, such as statistics, where traditional metrics such as first authorship may not fully reflect the individual’s contribution. These changes resulted in the promotion of female academics. Tenure review is held five years after an appointment. They provide all tenure track faculty with an independent mentor and provide personal development programmes and improved guidance on the review process. Subsequently, all tenure reviews have been successful.
