Since 2013, committee vacancies for positions that are not role-dependent are advertised at least annually. Interested parties can discuss the role with the chair and observe a meeting before committing themselves. This has helped make significant progress in improving the gender balance on decision-making committees, through taking actions to improve transparency of membership process, and by preparing women for committee membership.
