Project Title: AI-Enhanced Lesson Planning: Pioneering the Future of Teaching

The project is: in progress

Project Summary:

When time is limited, AI-powered tools like ChatGPT can be extremely useful. They can quickly generate lesson plans that are aligned with advanced cognitive abilities, which can be especially beneficial for new educators. By doing so, they can prepare lessons efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. I share my practice with peers (as part of my own PG Cert study) - I typically start by giving ChatGPT the curriculum material and specific learning outcomes that I aim to achieve.

The AI then processes this information and creates a comprehensive lesson plan that's tailored to my needs. To help my peers better understand my ideas and workflows, I usually engage them in interactive discussions and encourage them to try it out themselves. The feedback I received was significantly positive as my approach was a game-changer for them. Some of them had never used ChatGPT before or thought it was just a chatbot and I opened their eyes to introduce them to new ways of using it during lesson planning. This helped resolve their pain points and reduce their workload, allowing them to focus more on interacting with students and improving student engagement instead of starting from scratch.

Impact: This helped resolve lecturers' pain points and reduce their workload, allowing them to focus more on interacting with students and improving student engagement instead of starting the lesson planning process from scratch.

Audience: Lecturers/ senior lecturers might be particularly helpful for new lecturers or lecturers who need urgent cover for someone else's class.

This output is part of a member project - AI Garage: Creating the Future Now which collects and curates cutting-edge practice examples of AI. You can explore other submissions here.
