Project Title: Using AI to Credit Intangible Assets
The project is: in progress
Project Summary:
We are currently working with an international partner to adopt their established platform and develop a UK corpus which will "teach" an AI-based platform to recognise UK students' assets and everyday activities that aren't currently rewarded with academic credit. The Staffordshire team are embarking on a research project, co-produced with students, to test proof of concept and establish a mechanism for making the intangible tangible!
Impact: Adopting the AI programme addresses unequal distribution and valuation of extra-curricular activities (ECAs), which often perpetuate class, racial, and gender biases in educational systems by failing to recognise the different forms of educational ‘worth’, acknowledging the richness of their lived experiences beyond traditional academic settings.
Audience: Marginalised students and prospective students; recognising different forms of learner experience, translating this into tangible and valid educational gains via inputs learners made within the platform.
This output is part of a member project - AI Garage: Creating the Future Now which collects and curates cutting-edge practice examples of AI. You can explore other submissions here.
